Metro soundscape

One passenger (and Art on Tyneside project participant), Christian Harrison, recorded sounds of the Metro which are ever present in the lives of people across Tyne and Wear. The journey begins in Newcastle – listen for the drop of coins into the ticket machine and the cries of ‘Chronicle’ – and then takes us to the coast where you hear oyster catchers and the sounds of Tynemouth market. He then took photographs to go with the sounds to create this film.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Made for the Art on Tyneside research project. Photographs by Christian Harrison. Sound pieces co-ordinated by Digital Voice for Communities and edited by John McGregor Cook.
